Day 1:Cairns → Hughenden (589 km, 6 hr 45 min)

Highlights:

• Depart from Cairns 8 am via the Atherton Tablelads, enjoying the scenic drive through tropical the savannah landscapes transitioning to the Outback.
• Arrive in Hughenden, home to the Flinders Discovery Centre, where you can see the life-size replica of the famous Muttaburrasaurus, one of Australia's first dinosaur discoveries.
• Visit the Porcupine Gorge National Park, known as "Australia’s Little Grand Canyon."
• Overnight in Hughenden – Stay at a local outback motel or caravan park.

Day 2:Hughenden → Richmond → Winton (278 km, 4 hr 15 min)

Highlights:

• Depart Hughenden and head to Richmond, the Dinosaur Capital of Australia!
• Visit the Kronosaurus Korner fossil museum, showcasing marine dinosaur fossils from when this region was an ancient inland sea.
• Travel towards Winton, stopping at Stamford and Marathon along the way, enjoying the vast open landscapes.
• Arrive in Winton, the birthplace of Waltzing Matilda and celebrated at the Waltzing Matilda Centre. Winton is  home to Australia’s Dinosaur Stampede.
• Overnight in Winton – Stay at the North Gregory Hotel or an Outback lodge.

Day 3:Winton → Lark Quarry Dinosaur Trackways → Muttaburra → Longreach

Highlights:

• Drive to Lark Quarry Conservation Park (1 hr 20 min) to witness the world’s only known dinosaur stampede footprints! drive to Muttaburra, home of the famous Muttaburrasaurus fossil discovery site.

• Travel to the Muttaburrasaurus Interpretation Centre an impressive and fascinating display of the origins and discovery of our first bi dinosaur.
• Continue the journey to Longreach, the heart of Outback Queensland.
• Overnight in Longreach – Stay at a heritage hotel or outback lodge.

Day 4:Longreach → Barcaldine  > Blackall  > Eromanga

Highlights:

• Visit the Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame in Longreach
• Visit the Qantas Founders Museum to learn about the history of aviation in the Outback.
• Enjoy an outback sunset cruise on the Thomson River with dinner and entertainment.
• Depart Longreach and continue to Barcaldine with the 1891 Shearers Strike history and where the labor party was formed at the Tree of Knowledge.

• On to Blackall where Jackie Howe set the shearing record of 321 sheep in a day with hand shears.
• Travel towards Eromanga, home to Australia’s largest dinosaur fossils!
•  Overnight in Eromanga
  

Day 5:Eromanga → Noccundra  > Tibooburra

Highlights:

• Visit the Eromanga Natural History Museum and meet Cooper, the largest dinosaur ever found in Australia and as large as Brontosaurus
• Take a guided tour of the paleontology labs, where new fossils are constantly being discovered.
• Learn about Eromanga’s fascinating opal mining history and the unique outback landscapes.
• Depart for a remote outback drive to Tibooburra, crossing into New South Wales.
• Enjoy breathtaking desert landscapes, red sand dunes, and vast open plains.
• Stop at Noccundra Hotel, one of the most isolated pubs in Queensland.
• Arrive in Tibooburra, the gateway to Sturt National Park, where you can see the remains of ancient landscapes and Aboriginal rock art.
• Visit Granite Rocks, a surreal outcrop of giant boulders in the middle of the desert.
• Final overnight stay in Tibooburra, experiencing true Outback hospitality before your journey home.

Day 6:Tibooburra → Milparinka → Broken Hill (330 km, 5 hr)

Highlights:

• Explore Milparinka, an historic gold rush town, where you can visit: The Albert Hotel – one of the last standing original gold rush pubs. Milparinka Heritage Centre – showcasing the town’s rich mining history. Sturts Steps -– learn about Sturts heroic journeys.

Continue to Broken Hill, Australia’s famous silver mining town and art capital.
